(Kitco News) - Gold prices are slightly higher in early U.S. trading Thursday, on some tepid short covering and an upside technical bounce following Wednesday?s sharp losses. The bears still have a firm near-term technical grip on the gold and silver markets at present. June Comex gold last traded up $1.60 at $1,560.40 an ounce. Spot gold was last quoted up $1.50 at $1,561.25. May Comex silver last traded down $0.078 at $27.575 an ounce.
